Old Town First School

Location:
Poole, Dorset
Main Contractor:
Raymond Brown
Scope of Project:

T.A.Colbourne Limited successfully interpreted the architect’s vision of bringing a Victorian School sympathetically up to date on a very restricted site in the Old Town area of Poole, Dorset.
The aluminium standing seam roof consists of nine separate and different roof slopes ranging from radius curves to rhomboidal and butterfly shapes. There were no right-angles!
The project posed particular challenges in detailing the numerous different verge and fascia interfaces, which were fitted to varying steelwork and timber grounds.
The completed building is a fine example of how, with the necessary design capabilities and the fixers’ skills a complex project can be competently completed
